Building community through remote learning

We worked with the Walton Family Foundation to build an online community around the trials of digital homeschooling during Fall 2020. No one was prepared for how challenging it would be to home-school their children while keeping a full-time job during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many exhausted parents turned to Walmart to supply their home classrooms. The Walton Family wanted to use the reach of their foundation to create a community for these parents to vent and share daily struggles while accessing digital resources to help make things just a little more bearable.

We worked with the Walton Family Foundation team to build a website that acted as a home base for the #SchooolsIN campaign. Anyone using the hashtag to join in the conversation would be featured on the homepage in the social feed. We developed digital resources like social story templates and Zoom backgrounds. After the website launch, we watched the homepage feed fill up with stories and assets as parents across the U.S. joined in on the conversation.
